My manager gave me performance improvement plan.is it sign of getting fired.?
ByMy manager gave me PIP oral and written warning.stating that my work was substandard, failure to alert. He asked me take a communication assertive course and said that have 90 day period to improve.Apart from communication,he said u are a terribly shy person.\
after this time period,he said will discussand told me that we don’t want you to leav this company.
Definitely not an indicator of consideration for Employee of the Year. He basically told you to shape up or get shipped out and told you how to go about shaping up. Nice of him to put that much effort in trying to help you improve. Sounds like you have positives the company would like to keep, but only if you improve in some areas to meet their overall standards. This is a good opportunity for you to demonstrate your ability to gain from experience and tutelage.

Sorry to say but usually such plans are just paper trails so they have evidence to justify firing you. But I am curious what you do and how being shy affects your job, this is a personality trait that will be hard to get over so its not really a fair criticism, however, if it it affecting your job then maybe you should think of switching positions
